Sara Morrison

San Diego native and visual artist, Sara Morrison, has dedicated much of her life to honing her skills in photography, collage, drawing, and painting. Currently, she teaches Physics at the San Diego School for Creative and Performing Arts, where her credentials in Visual Arts allow her to creatively integrate art into the science curriculum.

In her diverse art practice, Sara explores the interplay of contrast, patterns, and textures to evoke mood and intrigue. She is particularly passionate about working with black ink, both alone and in combination with vibrant watercolors. Inspired by the enchanting desert night sky, meandering trails, and the rich historical lore of her surroundings, Sara finds beauty in every experience, including her own mistakes.

An avid enthusiast of instant film cameras, she embraces the small square format as a unique canvas for her art. You can frequently find her plein air painting at Disneyland’s Main Street USA, where her vibrant colors come to life. Influenced by artists Mary Blair and Blake Quentin, Sara continues to seek inspiration from the magic of the world around her.
